On November 1, 2019, the School of Peace and the Arab Center for Alternative Planning (http://www.ac-ap.org/en/) organized a tour of East Jerusalem/Al-Quds for the 4th joint course for Jewish and Arab architects and planners. The tour is guided by Eran Zedekiah.

On the tour, we met Palestinian activists from three Palestinian neighborhoods: Silwan and Issawiya and Salahin. We learned about the ongoing process of dispossessing Palestinians from these neighborhoods.

After the fascinating tour, we heard a lecture by Meir Margalit, who served as a member of the City Council on behalf of Meretz. It was an important tour. We learned much and received valuable reading material. There is much work ahead of us to change this oppressive reality.

As architect Yasmin Shbeta wrote, “I learned a lot about the true face of Al Quds and got acquainted with my amazing people who taught me to keep fighting and never give up.”
