On Friday, January 13 2017, a special meeting took place for the course for change agents in mixed cities. At the initiative of the participants, the course met at the community center of Qalansawe (an Arab town in the Triangle area of the Central Israel).

The participants wished to express solidarity with the town residents following the state’s demolition of 11 homes. A mass protest took place in the town on the same day.

The meeting opened with a discussion on planning and construction in Arab municipalities. The discussion was led by Nayef Abu-Sweiss, who is participating in the course. Afterwards, a lecture was given by Samah Salaime on the subject of a joint Jewish-Palestinian feminist struggle. Finally, the participants joined the demonstration in Qalansawe. The group marched with the estimated 5,000 protesters to the site of the demolished homes. Among the speakers at the rally were senior politician Mohammad Barakeh and Prof. Gadi Algazi.
