The School for Peace opens 4 courses in universities and colleges

The School for Peace Posted on 11/11/2019 by Ira Elan11/11/2019

With the opening of the 2019-2020 academic year, new School for Peace graduate-level courses have opened at Tel Aviv University, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Haifa University and Ruppin College.

Each course has approximately 20 students, half of which are Arabs and half of which are Jews (a total of about 80 students). This is the 30th year that we are holding these prestigious courses. The name of the course is “the Jewish-Arab conflict in the light of theory and experience.”

During each semester- or year-long course, the participants engage in an in-depth dialogue based on the conflict. Facilitators from the School for Peace deliver the experiential part of the course, while the academic staff of the university are responsible for placing this in the light of theoretical study of group work and conflict studies.  More information here.

Some of the course graduates continue their academic careers in the field of dispute resolution, while others become advocates for human rights, equality and peace.
