Michael Sfard addresses SFP course for human rights lawyers
Twice, during the ongoing SFP change agents’ course “Lawyers for Human Rights” we had the pleasure and honor to hear well-known human rights attorney Michael Sfard. In the first lecture, Attorney Sfard gave a detailed and scholarly explanation of laws governing war and occupation in international law. In the second lecture, he dealt with “ethics for human rights lawyers” vis-a-vis other fields such as communications and civil society. Through use of case studies, he presented a sophisticated and layered mapping of the connections between litigation in the fields of human rights and political and social activism.
