On June 3, Shireen Hapi, principal of the Ort Sciences school in Lydda, gave a presentation to participants in the School for Peace Shared Cities change agents course. The subject of the lecture was how to use education as a means for advancing equality. She argued that it is first of all necessary to focus on providing a physical space that satisfies educational needs; afterwards, to insist on providing a response to the emotional needs of the students; and only after all these needs have been met, to deal with the academic aspect.
