Graduates of the Mixed Cities Change Agent Training Course Visit Acre

The School for Peace Posted on 04/04/2016 by Ira Elan04/04/2016

On Friday 01/04/16, graduates of the mixed cities training change agent training course that ended in January 2016 initiated a study visit to Acre and Tamra.

Pictured above, Ari and Michal of Dror Dror, who are kibbutz educators and School for Peace graduates , talk about their work with Jewish and Arab youth in the city. The tour was attended by 20 graduates of the course, who come from Ramle, Lydda, Beersheba, Acre, Haifa, Nazareth, Jaffa and other places. All are active in promoting equality between Jews and Arabs in these cities.

The tour was guided by Sami Hawari. We witnessed the processes of gentrification of Arab areas of the Old City and heard about the absence of contact between Jews and Arabs in the mixed neighborhoods. Afterwards, we went to Tamra, where we were hosted by Muhammad Diab, who is also a graduate of the course. He spoke of the impressive project that he founded in Tamra and continues to direct, for about 90 mentally challenged people.
