SFP book reaches Saeb Erekat

The School for Peace Posted on 03/07/2014 by Ira Elan10/11/2020

Today village member Marwa Jbara-Tibi, a journalist, met with Dr. Saeb Erekat, Palestinian Member of Parliament and former Chief Negotiator for Palestine, in Ramallah and gave him a copy of the SFP’s anthology “Two People Write from Right to Left.”

The anthology, compiled and published by the School for Peace in 2012, includes a collection of 35 poems and 27 short stories from the most prominent poets and writers from Palestine and Israel, as well as their translations into Hebrew and Arabic respectively.

The book is designed as a teaching tool for Palestinian and Israeli literature teachers to teach the literature of the ‘other’, and the stories and poems allow for a discussion and understanding of a wide variety of topics – including the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, gender issues, poverty, the environment, history, etc. The photo shows Dr. Erekat holding the anthology; an important photograph in difficult days such as these.
